Stress can initiate change, help us focus on the task at hand, and in some cases even save our lives but when stress builds up, it can result in the opposites i.e. we are more vulnerable to colds, flu, and a host of chronic or life-threatening illnesses. So it's very essential to manage your stress and the first tip in managing stress is to recognize your stressors. Take a deep breath and count uptil 10: this tip is mostly used by everyone since Taking a deep breath or two adds oxygen to your system, which almost instantly helps your relax. Or stand up and stretch your body and count up to ten can also give you better relaxation.
Just Say No that means trying to do everything is a one-way ticket to serious stress. You should be clear about your limits, and stop trying to please everyone all the time.
Put it on the paper: writing provides perspective. Divide a paper in two parts and on the left side list the stressors you may be able to change while on the right, list the ones you can't and stop fretting over what you can't change.
Dial to a friend: this is often done you share your troubles with your friends and you relieve your burden and you feel cared for.
Say a small prayer: people compared with those who profess no faith, religious and spiritual are calmer and healthier.
Make some plans: looking forward to something provides calming perspective and for that you can schedule to go out for a picnic weekend or have an appointment for a massage.
Space out: look outside the window and find some natural things that captures your imagination like look at the clouds or at trees or even the birds.
There are more tips such as take a walk, try a tea but remember never grit your teeth.
