Cramps while running
After effects of running
Even though the link among dehydration and calf cramps is not clear it is argued that it is a reason for calf cramps. If it is, it could be a rationale why many runners experience leg cramps during the night. During the night we dehydrate fairly a bit. Significant building stones in a runner's diet are sodium, potassium and magnesium. When they are lacking a runner is said to be level to calf cramps. This could be the other cause that we experience calf cramps during the night because we don't refuel while sleeping. So exertion, dehydration or poor nutrition is all connected to calf cramps. Striking that, there is no clear-cut answer for an occurrence so common.
Reasons for cramps while running
Exertion was a huge contributor lacking doubt. But a vital factor for me getting calf cramps could have also been dehydration. The race did not have water that stands every 5 kilometers as promised. At the 10 K and 15 K mark they were handling out a sports drink. So after the 5 K mark I was with no water while racing like a madman. Absolutely slow down if you feel them coming. You might be lucky sufficient to be able to prevent them. You can attempt to get the calf cramps out of your body by massaging your calf and by stretching it. Keep your heel on the ground, pull your toes up and try to reach your toes with your hands. Doing this makes your calf muscles stretch.
