Liver Transplant:

A way of liver cure:

If the liver is damaged seriously then it affects the absorption of vitamins and nutrients, prevent waste products from being effectively removed from the system, and reduce the production of proteins needed to clot the blood. There are many diseases that are responsible for the damage of the liver and in such cases transplant provides a patient with a liver that can keep up with the demands of a full, active life. If the doctor observes that there is a diseased liver due to chronic liver failure, acute liver failure or tumors within the liver then transplant becomes absolutely necessary. The diseased liver is replaced with a segment of liver from a healthy human donor and before the transplant the entire checkup is done.

The transplant:

Liver secretion is done when there are resections for tumors, removal of stones within the substance of the liver, repair of bile duct injuries within the liver, biopsy of the liver for tumors within the liver. Gallbladder and biliary surgery is suggested in pregnant females, surgical repair for bile ducts that have been injured during laparoscopic gallbladder removal, surgical removal of gallbladder and biliary cancers. In the hypertension surgery there is an obstruction of the mesenteric venous system, spleen vein, portal vein, or of the hepatic veins. There is a bloodless surgery that is performed without transfusing the patient with blood or blood products. The condition of patient decides the type of surgery and then there is a judgment by the doctor to perform surgery.

Tests before transplant:

A chest x-ray is done so that there is a view of the health of patient's lungs and lower respiratory tract. The E.C.G. is a main determinant of how well the patient's heart is working and may reveal heart damage that was previously unsuspected. The CT scan is done so that there is a computerized image that will show the size and shape of the patient's liver and major blood vessels. The blood test is done to know patient's blood count, blood and tissue type, blood chemistries, and immune system function will all be checked and then finally the decision is taken.
