2 Placing a towel dipped in cold water on the forehead, and dipping it again in the cold water if it gets warm.

4 Placing a decoction of half a teaspoon o mustard seeds and 3 teaspoons of water in the nostrils.
5 Ripe grape juice can also effectively treat sinus headache.
6 Eating jalapeno pepper helps in the improvement of the drainage system in the nasal and sinuses region, providing relief from the headache.
7 Inhaling peppermint steam also relieves one of the sinus headaches, because peppermint plays the role of a decongestant and the warm steam and the oils help in clearing of the sinuses region of any blockage.
8 Applying a mixture of one teaspoon of finely ground cinnamon and one teaspoon water on the forehead prove very effective when the sinus headaches occur as a result of exposure to cold air.
9 Applying a paste made of dry ginger and water or milk to the forehead.
10 Applying a paste on the forehead made from 10-15 finely ground Basil leaves, one teaspoon dried ginger and four cloves.
11 A hot footbath accompanied by a cold compress also relieves sinus headaches.
12 Body and mind relaxation techniques, acupuncture and other homeopathic remedies would also help.
Other measures -
Nasal steroid sprays reduce inflammation caused by allergies or a structural problem. Beclomethasone, budesonide, flunisolide, fluticasone, mometasone, and triamcinolone are some the nasal steroids.
If the headaches are caused due to bacterial infection then antibiotics as prescribed by the doctor can be taken to treat the infection.
Sinus headaches related to structural problems like deviated septum or nasal polyps can be treated with medication and other alternatives. Surgery would be the last option as surgery has its own risks and is not necessarily successful in eliminating the symptoms even after the structural problem has been corrected.
