Alcohol calories

Alcohol, the sweet poison everyone restrains from, yet cannot help falling prey to. Factually, the ideal dose of alcohol for women is two to three units daily i.e. approximately two small glasses of wine. And for men the idyllic amount is four units i.e. two large pints. But how many actually know their limits and how many knowing it, follow suit? Hardly any! New age is witnessing increasing levels of alcohol consumption on a daily basis. And the most apprehensive issue is that the age group, which is getting involved, is very young to recognize its adversities in the later stage. It all starts as trial and error method, and ends up as an addiction even before the person concerned, comprehends. But on the other hand, alcohol calories in a way cannot be completely wiped out as they lend a helping hand in plummeting the amount of fat that your body burns for energy. And this is the reason a lot of people opt for Alcohol drinks to reduce weight. But not maintaining a balance can lead to increase in your appetite and reduction in testosterone levels, which in turn will amplify your weight all the more.

The beneficial effects
Do you have any idea what a drunken night in the pub does to your diet? Alcohol is supposed to be the main culprit of the spare tires adoring the waists of men who think just a drink or two does not matter. But then only five percent of the calories from Alcohol are turned into fat. Our body tends to use any of the three sources (carbohydrates, fat and proteins) whichever source is provided by us in ample amount. And since Alcohol converts to Acetate, it burns more of acetate and less of fat. In short when you've had a few bottoms up, some of it gets converted to alcohol, most of it is turned to acetate by the liver and released into the bloodstream and substitute fat as the fuel.

Warning
A combination of Alcohol and high calorie meal is the most fattening amalgamation. Even though an Alcohol-rich banquet augments your metabolic tempo, it reduces number of fat calories burnt by your body. So the moral of the story is, don't give up Alcohol but don't expect a leaner, muscular body with high consumption of it, either.
