Delaying sugar into the blood stream - It slows how quick the sugar goes into your bloodstream and therefore may reduce the peaks of blood sugar levels.
Reducing body weight - It helps to make you feel full longer and may displace empty calorie foods.
Reducing blood cholesterol - If you have heart problems or high cholesterol, eating high fiber foods may help to reduce your blood cholesterol levels
What is dietary fiber?
Dietary fiber is the hard cover which is found in fruits, vegetables and grains that resists digestion by human enzymes. Fiber is important in your nutrition plan because high fiber foods are lower in calories, and satisfies the appetite and it requires more chewing and takes longer to digest. The foods which are nearly all digested and absorbed as they pass through the small intestine but fiber enters the large intestine almost all intact fibers are found in two ways:

Soluble foods are dried beans, peas, lentils, apples and citrus fruit and insoluble foods are vegetables and whole grains. Water soluble fibers which absorbs the fluid as it moves through the digestive system and studies and shows that its aids are in the reduction of serum cholesterol. Make sure you have plenty of fluid with your meal to make the fiber nice and strong.
