Diets don't work because of two major reasons. Diets are a prescription to put on weight. They cause stress and stress stimulates appetite. It also depletes the essential brain chemicals which keep us calm and energized. As a result, we get in touch with food to replenish these substances. The all or nothing pattern brings one to their knees. We're either on the diet, firm and rigid or totally off the diet diving into the prohibited fruit, ice cream, chocolate, chips, and cookies. When we fail on the diet, the pendulum swings entirely to the opposite side and we overindulge.
When you diet, you are saying no to the part of you that wants what it desires. It feels deprived of it. The requirement to eat becomes stronger. The solution is in the paradox technique. Set the phase for eating what you want. You will get pleasure from food more and feel satisfied with less. In the same way, majority of people go unconscious and pass the point of satisfaction when they eat. One should slow down and learn to enjoy your food. When you crave for sweets, fried food, fast food, or ice cream, the best way to control the want is to talk to yourself. Take time to find out what will satisfy your true need. All of this sounds good but will it help one lose weight? Body knows what size it should be. When you get your ego out of the way and do what body is showing and telling you to do, it will find its ideal natural size. Finally find pleasure and comfort in your own body at the size that's accurate for you. You will by no means have to diet again.

A goal-supporting action is the solution. Eat and work out moderately ninety percent of the time. Don't be concerned about the other ten percent. Then get on with living and take pleasure in enjoying your life. Body will show you the rest.
