The best way you think you can get rid of your gut is by doing a certain AB exercise or by using the latest AB gadget- through a proper diet and exercise. Sit-ups, crunches, AB lounges and other AB gadgets all play a very small part in getting rid of your gut. The only way to get a ripped midsection is to diet and exercise properly.

Proper Dieting and Exercising:
As far as getting rid of gut is considered, AB exercises play a very small part. 90% of your time should be devoted to dieting and exercising properly. You do not have to starve yourself or deprive yourself of your favorite foods to diet properly. The easiest way to start dieting properly is to start eating six 400 calorie meals a day or 2400 calories a day. For the first week stay with six meals and go down to five 400 calorie meals in the second week and the third week and so on you stay with four 400 calorie meals a day or 1600 calories a day. As you reduce in meals your calorie intake will go down as will your gut. Try eating all your meals 2-3 hours apart as doing this will keep your metabolism higher during the day. Proper exercise means doing something that you like doing that involves you moving around for at least 30 minutes a day but you don't have to do 30 minutes of exercise all at once.

The best way for working on your gut or transverse abdominus (TVA):
1. Place one of your fingers on your belly button.
2. Without taking in a deep breath, try moving your belly button inward as far away from your finger as you can.
3. Hold your belly button in for 5 seconds working your way up for a minute.
4. As you are holding in your belly button, tightly squeeze your ABS.

You can work your gut or TVA by the following method:
1. Without taking in a deep breath, suck in your belly.
2. Tie a rope, but not too tightly, around your midsection.
3. Every time you relax your TVA muscle the rope tightens up around your waist reminding you to tighten your TVA muscle.

While doing these two TVA exercises do not hold your breath just breath normally. Do not rely solely on these TVA exercises to get rid of your gut. Remember that you still have to diet and exercise properly to get rid of the fat around your midsection.
