I don't have the will power to lose weight

The mirror screams at me every time I look into it. And the message is loud and clear, "You need to get rid of all that excess weight that you are carrying around you, so willingly like some docile beast of burden." Very, very true, I say, but please, not now, not today, not tomorrow, may be just some other time.

When?

Some resolutions are just meant to be broken and these so very solemn resolutions that I make year after year in the most sincere manner possible just don't seem to happen. "I will reduce", "I will become thinner", "I will not put on more weight than before", seem to look as good as any of the commandments a regular fitness freak would swear by unfailingly. I shall do it, just don't ask me WHEN.

Where there is a will, there is a way…out.

Consciously every time I gather the will power that even remotely seems like putting me on the path to weight reduction, I find easier paths leading to the promising land of food, gourmets and rich cuisine. I know I must take the trodden path but when the detours seem just as tempting, can you not forgive me for some yummy delights rather than some calorie counted morsels pushed down your gullet.

We are like that only

How many people I know are in urgent need of a good workout and a diet and exercise regime, are enjoying life to the hilt. Why, then, I say, should I starve myself and deprave my tongue and tummy of delicious food, calorie and fat and carbo and oil and anything else, you call it, I call it heaven. May be, I just can't make up my mind, I can go in for a change over, but then people adjust to me now just the way I am, even if that means making way for a bulky human being who is expanding every which way.

It shall be done…tomorrow

And some smart fellow very cleverly said, "Tomorrow never comes". Point made, but then I just can't seem to get the will power to do it today, but then tomorrow is another day and if not tomorrow then Monday is a good day to start all things new (Don't ask me which Monday I plan to begin) but the deed shall be done…
