Getting lean, or "getting ripped" as it is referred to in bodybuilding and, is a complex process that involves dieting, exercising, and genetics. Lean body refers to the sum of the weight of your bones, muscles and organs... basically the sum of everything other than fat in your body. Body mass represents the weight of your muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons, and internal organs. Lean body mass differs from fat-free mass. Since there is some essential fat in the marrow of your bones and internal organs, the lean body mass includes a small percentage of essential fat. When in ideal shape, body fat will make up about 15% - 18% of a male's body weight and 18% - 22% of a female's. The remainder of the body's "lean weight" is composed of water (55%-60%), muscle and other lean tissue (10%-20%), and bone and minerals (6%-8%).
Measure your body fat percentage (using a body-fat analyzer or body-fat scale) before making dietary or exercise changes; this way you'll be able to track your progress. Work the major muscle of the body, including the thighs, hamstrings, rear end, back, chest, shoulders, arms and abdominals. Try working out at home gyms that work as many different muscles of the body as possible. Home gyms are frequently less expensive than a gym membership and more convenient to use. Expand more calories than you consume. Any activity, from mowing the lawn to vacuuming the carpet, burns calories and helps in loosing calories which results in fat loss. Losing fat will help reveal your hidden muscles. Reducing calorie consumption or increasing activity by 500 calories each day will result in one pound of fat loss per week. One should keep a regular record of the food and calorie intake. Aerobic exercise will increase the number of calories you burn and enhance your endurance.

So now that you know what a lean body is and how to get one in brief, get down to action. It's still not late. Yes, it's difficult to start off but once you get down to work its fun. And there is nothing to loose. And who dosnt want to look lean and handsome. What one basically has to worry about is the diet one takes. So best of lucků
